This will absolutely drain your battery on it's playback on the nexus 4 but it got fixed with the upgrade to nexus 5. and now it's back with 4.4.4. so annoying. Nexus 4, 5.1.1 hot battery.. reduced battery life.. (i.e. no overheating, no battery drain, etc.) all the way up until the system update?. I had been facing the same massive battery drain problem with my nexus 5. the phone overheats, the battery drains, wifi drops out..
